STARKE—A 40-year-old Starke man was sentenced to a year in jail and a year probation after admitting to threatening a woman with a knife.
Anthony Michael Alsheimer pleaded to aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
According to an arrest report, during an argument between the defendant and victim, Alsheimer picked up a kitchen knife and ran toward the victim with it, stating he was going to kill both the victim and himself. The woman responded by running outside and calling law enforcement, and Alsheimer dropped the knife and ran away.
The defendant’s previous convictions include dealing in stolen property, battery, false imprisonment of an adult, criminal mischief with property damage over $200, possession of fewer than 20 grams of cannabis and failure to redeliver leased property.
