10 years for armed robbery of dirt bikes

The second of two men accused in May of robbing two men of dirt bikes at gunpoint has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Chandler Parrish Ellison, 28, pleaded to one count of robbery with a firearm. The state dropped a second robbery count in addition to two counts each of kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Ellison’s co-defendant, 20-year-old Aaron Tyler Higgins of Waldo, pleaded earlier this year and was also sentenced to 10 years.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the two victims told Bradford Detective Joseph Shiller that Higgins and Ellison were buying two dirt bikes from the victims when the buyers pulled a black handgun on them.

“(The suspects) told both victims to get in the back of (Higgins’s) truck and drove off with both victims in the truck against their will,” Shiller wrote. “Higgins and (a then) unknown suspect dropped the two victims off at SE CR (230)A and SE CR 100A.”

The detective added that the suspects told both victims they would kill them if they called police.
