Parents have until Friday, Aug. 29, to sign children (fourth-eighth grades) up for the 12 Guys in Bow-Ties and 12 Girls in Pearls (aka 12G Mentoring) program, which is entering its 10th year of positively influencing and changing lives of youth.
The program is open to public-school students in Bradford and surrounding counties, private-school students and home-school students.
This is not a Bible study group, but members will learn some of the same core values to improve character traits, such as self-esteem, self-motivation, self-discipline, respect, responsibility, honesty, faith, love, confidence, servant, citizenship and leadership.
The mentoring program was founded as a student mentoring/community outreach program. The vision is to foster confidence and character in students from all backgrounds in Bradford County, helping them reach their potential and become community minded leaders of tomorrow. Children in the program will learn about such things as etiquette, social and emotional development, health and wellness, financial literacy, citizenship, real-life situations, networking and advocating for yourself and others.
This year’s program will start in October and end in May.
If you are interested in signing up or want more information about the program, please reach out to Edrick Hamilton at 904-364-0868 or [email protected].
