STARKE— The Florida Highway patrol said a 13-year-old girl was injured when a semi collided with an overturned box truck on Starke’s bypass, near the State Road 100 exit.

FHP said in a crash report that at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, a car veered into the right lane the box truck was traveling south in.  The truck went off the pavement, then back onto the road where it overturned.

The semi then hit the overturned box truck, causing serious injuries to the 13-year-old Middleburg youth.

FHP said the driver of the box truck: a 32-year-old Jacksonville man and the driver of the semi: a 61-year-old Orlando man received minor injuries.

The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out onto the highway as a result of the crash.
