2 KHHS girls place in top 10 at Suwannee Invitational

Keystone Heights High School’s cross-country teams competed in the Oct. 18 Suwannee Invitational, with girls runners Ryleigh Thomas and Melody Tyre placing fourth and seventh, respectively, out of 106.

Thomas ran a time of 20:49, while Tyre had a time of 21:50 as the Indians placed fifth out of nine teams.

Tessa Gray and Olivia Griffin placed 33rd and 43rd, respectively, with times of 24:35 and 25:16.

Other girls team results were Kirsten Lavin 26:34, Clara Beth Robinson 27:01, Bailee Morris 27:08, Schiley Starling 31:25 and Raina Daniel 35:34.

Keystone placed fourth out of 13 in the boys team standings and was led by Ryder Thomas and Hunter Sheppard, who placed 13th and 16th, respectively, out of 154. Thomas had a time of 18:00, while Sheppard had a time of 18:12.

Four other runners placed in the top half of the field: Hunter Gray, who had a 29th-place time of 18:50, Ryeland Wahl, who had a 50th-place time of 19:38, Jason Parales, who had a 62nd-place time of 20:15, and Alex Mahaffey, who had a 75th-place time of 20:44.

Keystone had the following results as well: Gavin Morford 21:29, Mason Gray 21:35 and Oliver Miller 21:39.
