The following individuals were arrested recently by local law enforcement officers in Bradford, Union or Clay (Keystone Heights-area) counties. All defendants are considered innocent until convicted in a court or until pleading guilty or no contest. Information in this report is from law enforcement agencies and court documents, which are public records.
Bradford
Christopher Devante Barr, 29, was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 3 for failure to appear.
Khalya Aricia Coleman, 19, was arrested by Starke police on Jan. 3 for battery on medical personnel.
Donald Lee Fleming, 45, of Gainesville was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 4 for a probation violation.
Terrell Eugene Gilmore, 39, of Gainesville was arrested by Starke police on Jan. 2 for resisting an officer.
Daniel Smith Griffis, 37, of Gainesville was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 4 for hit and run, criminal mischief with property damage, dealing in stolen property, resisting an officer, possession of drugs, possession of drug equipment, reckless driving and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
William Bentley Hazlip, 36, of Hampton was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 2 for a probation violation.
Lawrence Blair Isgette, 67, of Starke was arrested by Starke police on Jan. 4 for interfering with the custody of a minor or incompetent person.
Demetrius Deshon Jenkins, 29, of Senbrook, South Carolina was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 8 for fraudulent use of credit cards.
Faith Ann Jewell, 48, of Starke was arrested by Starke police on Jan. 7 for larceny, possession of drugs and displaying a weapon while committing a felony.
According to an arrest report, a loss prevention officer stopped the defendant as she exited a Starke retail store.
The employee told police she saw Jewell conceal a set of pillowcases in her backpack and then tried to make off with the merchandise.
The officer added that while detaining Jewell, the defendant said she had a knife and a firearm in her backpack.
Police later recovered a black Taurus handgun in the backpack. They also found a loaded magazine in the bag and one clonazepam pill for which the defendant could not produce a prescription.
Charles D. Keoppen, 53, of Starke was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 2 for driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Brandon Scott King, 35, of Jacksonville was arrested by Lawtey police on Jan. 6 for vehicle theft.
Kyla Jean Morris, 35, of Waldo was arrested Jan. 6 by Starke police for an out-of-county warrant.
Shannon Rachel Mroz, 45, of Starke was arrested Jan. 3 by Starke police for battery.
Clem David Prescott, 68, of Brooker was arrested Jan. 2 by Bradford deputies for driving a vehicle with a registration expired for more than six months, attaching a tag not assigned to a motor vehicle and a probation violation.
William Trevor Sheering, 20, of Starke was arrested Jan. 4 by Starke police for a probation violation.
Deonte’ Jamar Simmons, 27, of Starke was arrested by Starke police and Bradford deputies on Jan. 2 for resisting an officer, a probation violation and a conditional release violation.
Kathleen Olga Smith, 47, of Keystone Heights was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 3 for DUI.
Jorge Alberto Velez Rodriguez, 66, was arrested by Starke police on Jan. 6 for driving with a suspended or revoked license and attaching a tag not assigned to a vehicle.
Walter Derek Watts, 32, of Starke was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 5 for a probation violation.
Union
Jacob Daniel Briggs, 20, of Melrose was arrested by Union deputies on Jan. 2 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer and disorderly intoxication.
Michael Anthony Fernandez Sr., 43, of Brooker was arrested by Union deputies on Jan. 4 for failure to appear.
Michael T. Hamilton, 28, was arrested by Union deputies on Jan. 3 for smuggling contraband (cell phone) into a prison.
Clay
Destiny Channell Brown, 45, was arrested by Clay deputies in Keystone Heights on Jan. 2 for a probation violation and DUI with property damage.
Dylan Gene Kaye, 19, was arrested by Clay deputies in Keystone Heights on Jan. 4 for possession of over 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug equipment.
Shaleena Arren Marks, 21, was arrested by Clay deputies in Keystone Heights on Jan. 6 for battery.
Lacey Sage Maria Romero, 28, was arrested by Clay deputies in Keystone Heights on Jan. 3 for battery.
