6 from BHS to advance to weightlifting regionals

Easton Wynn was a runner-up, while five of his Bradford High School teammates also had top-six finishes at the March 29 District 7-1A boys weightlifting meet at Keystone Heights High School.

Lifters who placed in the top six earned the right to advance to the Region 2 finals, which will be held at Keystone Heights High School on Friday, April 8, at 10 a.m.

Wynn had a 490 total (275 bench press, 215 clean and jerk) in the 238 class, while two of his teammates earned fourth-place finishes: Marcus Hewitt with a 315 total (175, 140) in the 129 class and Devon McBride with a 440 total (245, 195) in the 169 class.

Jacob Brugh took fifth in the 154 class with a 375 total (200, 175).

The Tornadoes final two regional-qualifying lifters earned sixth-place finishes: Dayton Roberts with a 445 total (260, 185) in the 219 class and Nathaniel Bowlan-Smith with a 480 total (280, 200) in the unlimited class.
