Malcolm Adams Sr.
Malcolm Franklin Adams Sr. died Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home. He was born in Olustee on Sept. 24, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mattie Adams; brother, Clifton Adams; and infant daughter, Helen Marie Adams.
Survivors are his wife, Thea Marie Adams; children, Sandy (Gerald) Hammond, Mal (Lisa) Jr., Joy (Steve) Sapp; and extended family.
Services were held at Freedom Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 22. Interment was at Hope Baptist Cemetery.

Dorothy Clyatt
Dorothy Faye Clyatt passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, after a brief illness, just a few days before her 98th birthday. She was born July 20, 1928, in Union County, to Paul and Loca Parrish Renfroe. Dorothy Faye was a devoted homemaker and a faithful Christian. She was a longtime member of Providence Village Baptist Church, where her faith was evident in the way she lived her life. She was devoted to her family, and her home was a place of love, warmth, and unwavering support. Her life was marked by deep faith, enduring love, and a steadfast commitment to those she held dear. She held a special place in the hearts of her family, who lovingly knew her as “Pete” or “Aunt Pete.” The nickname was given to her by her father and remained a cherished part of her identity throughout her life. Her siblings, nieces, and nephews continued to call her by this beloved name, a reflection of the love and closeness they shared. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served throughout her life. We also find peace in believing that she has been joyfully reunited with the love of her life, her devoted husband, J.C. After years apart, we can only imagine the happiness of that long-awaited reunion. Though we will miss her every day, we are grateful for the love, faith, and countless memories she leaves with us. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and generations to come. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, J.C. Clyatt; her siblings, Conetha Renfroe, Navada Dukes, Eletha Malphurs, Eunice Evans, Loca “Tootsie” McDavid, Ella Mae Willis, T. L. Renfroe, Wilmer Renfroe, Reamer Renfroe; and her sons-in-law, Bobby Simmons and Weggie Lawrence.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Paula Lawrence, Greg (Debbie) Clyatt, Mona Simmons, and Jill (Billy) Townsend. She was a cherished grandmother to Stacey (Ray) DePratter, Lindsey (Jeffrey) Ballance, Shannan (Will) Gressinger, Kayla (Jeremy) Connell, Dustin Brannan, Bridget (Trey) Hosford, Erica (Jonathan) Lawrence, and Dalton (Hannah) Townsend. She was also blessed with her great-grandchildren, Taylor (Kyle) Mosher, Landon DePratter, Gloree Ballance, Kali Kennington, Maverick Ballance, Abree Ballance, Jake Walker, Ava Walker, Tanner Connell, Judd Connell, Tripp Connell, Berkley Gressinger, Brooklynn Gressinger, Destin Hosford, Sydney Hosford, Harper Hosford, Sawyer Lawrence, Hampton Lawrence, and Graham Townsend. Her legacy continues through her great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Mosher.
A service to honor her life was held Friday, July 17, at Providence Village Baptist Church beginning at 11 a.m. A visitation time was held one hour prior. Dorothy was laid to rest beside her J.C. at Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

Marlene Hamilton
Marlene Hope Hamilton, 88, of Columbus, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at her residence. She was born Aug. 12, 1937, in Corry, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Glenard and Belle (Woodard) Taylor. Marlene was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1955. She worked for Aero Supply and Raymond Manufacturing, before working at Erie Plastics. She worked there for 34 years, first as a painter, and then doing machine setup. She retired in 2000. She was always up for any type of adventure from chasing waterfalls, touring mansions, or exploring haunted locations. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida. She was much loved by her family, friends, and her medical team. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Hamilton Sr., whom she married in 1955 in Clymer, New York; sister, Zelda Volk; and five brothers, Wilbur, Jack, Virgil, Carl and Donald Taylor; and son-in-law, Jim Perrin.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim Hussey (Glen Sorensen) of Waynesville, North Carolina; Lorna Hamilton of Augusta, Georgia; and Melody Perrin of Corry, Pennsylvania; son, Ronald (Belinda) Hamilton Jr., of Syracuse, New York; four grandchildren, Alicia (Eric) Turner, Jamey Hamilton, Steve (Yinni) Hamilton and Jessica Perrin (Tyler Silka); five great-grandchildren, Alora Matherne, Liam and Asher Hamilton, Lucian Mallinger and Cordelia Mirisoloff; sister-in-law, Rita Frey; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her wonderful neighbors, Debbie Yoder and Newell Gates, who helped her since her husband passed away.

Richard Miller
Mr. Richard “Dick” Arnold Miller, 80, of Melrose passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his son’s home in Jacksonville. He was born July 26, 1945, in Gainesville to Ottis Dwight and Addie May (Wallace) Miller. He lived a life dedicated to service, particularly during his time as a military police officer for the government. Following his 26-year career with the United States Air Force, he became a private investigator, private security consultant and Regional Vice President for Professional Security Bureau. He was a man who enjoyed everything from boating and motorcycle riding to golfing and travel. The love he expressed with family, friends, and beloved family pets brought joy to his days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50-plus years, Rosalinda “Linda” (Larayos); and his precious granddaughter, Keire Lyn Miller, both in 2017; as well as his siblings, Jimmy Miller, Travis Miller, Myra Gardner, Patricia Carter, and Wayne Miller.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Richard Lee Miller of Jacksonville, Robert Eugene Miller of Melrose, and Rosemarie Miller of Jacksonville. Also left behind are siblings, Janice Bowers of Julington Creek and Larry Miller of Middleburg. He was lovingly called “Pop-Pop” by all six of his grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Shirley Pollard
Mrs. Shirley Ann Pollard, 86, of Keystone Heights, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, in Daytona. She was born on April 24, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Marvin Lee Wray and Geneva (Brown) Wray. She spent many years in Keystone Heights, where God was a significant part of her life and where she became a cherished member of her community. Her later years were spent at Daytona Beach, where she was also known in her community. She was a member of Lake Area Bible Church, a dedicated bookkeeper for Oakcrest Enterprises and Rhodes Furniture, as well as a talented woman with a passion for crafting and crocheting. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph Pollard Sr.; children, Dennis Chelette and Margaret Chelette; grandson, Christopher Chelette; son-in-law, Jimmie Patterson; as well as her uncle and aunt, Dennis and Alice Williams, who proudly raised her as their own.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Renee Patterson; and son, Clarence (Melanie) Chelette, all of Keystone Heights. She was lovingly called “Grandma” by Philip Patterson, Lindsay McNulty, Charity Kehoe, Dixie Gibbs and Holly Chelette; and several great-grandchildren.

Darlene and Richard Tiedeken
Darlene Tiedeken passed away at her home in Starke on Friday, June 19, 2026. She will be joined in heaven by her husband, Richard, who passed on Dec. 31, 2019. Both had lived in Starke since 1993. Darlene was born July 25, 1934, in Tracy, Minnesota, and Richard was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Lincoln Township in southern Minnesota. They met while attending Madelia Public School.
After high school, Richard joined the Army and was wounded by mortar shrapnel during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. After returning from military service, Richard and Darlene were married July 24, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia, Minnesota. They spent a short period of time in Los Angeles but soon returned to southern Minnesota to begin a life of farming, raising crops and animals. Darlene also worked assisting the nurse at Kraft Foods in New Ulm, Minnesota. In 1959, they adopted their son Nick. They teamed with Darlene’s parents, Leonard and Harriet Fitzgerald and brother, Patrick Fitzgerald, in buying and operating a resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin in 1972. By 1979 they returned to Minnesota, where Richard worked maintenance at a large greenhouse in Minneapolis, while Darlene worked as an office manager at a teen drug rehabilitation center, and then a wire cloth manufacturing company in St. Paul. They “retired” to Starke in 1993 where her brother, Pat, was working at the Reception and Medical Center at Lake Butler. During retirement, Richard and Darlene began selling Queens Apples at local festivals and fairs, including the Hoggetown Medieval Faire and Clay County Fair. Eventually they expanded their business to events from Florida to the International Border in Minnesota. Throughout their varied travels and adventures, they met countless interesting people, making many lifelong friends along the way.
A memorial celebrating their lives will be held Friday, July 24, at 6:15 p.m. at Victory Chapel in Starke.
