KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— City Manager Lynn Rutkowski thanked a Keystone Heights Airport employee for keeping city hall’s doors open during an August COVID outbreak that swept through the municipality’s office staff.
During the outbreak, in which three of city hall’s four employees were home sick, Morgan Bradley shuttled back and forth between the airport and city hall to prevent a backlog of work from piling up.
“Miss Morgan was here to make sure that our doors were open as our staff was out, myself included with COVID,” Rutkowski said during a Sept. 13 city council meeting.
The city manager credited the new airport hire with serving the public, despite her inexperience.
“We thank you very, very much for coming in sight unseen and answering questions that you did not know,” she told Bradley.
Rutkowski also announced several staff changes at the city.
Public Works Supervisor Kenny Hall was promoted to public works director. Matt Cole will be taking over cemetery sales and code enforcement. Rutkowski’s assistant Christina Meeks will be adding tourism development to her portfolio, and Shelley Gibbs has been hired as the city’s office manager and fiscal clerk.
