Indians advance to District 3-3A semis with win over Umatilla

Keystone Heights High School advanced to the semifinals of the District 3-3A volleyball tournament, which KHHS is hosting, with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-20) win over seventh-seed Umatilla in the Oct. 19 quarterfinals.

The second-seed Indians (14-9) will play third-seed Father Lopez (13-11) on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.

Stats from the win over Umatilla weren’t available as of this posting.

The Indians entered the tournament off two straight wins, beginning with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-13) victory over visiting Interlachen on Oct. 12. Kori Jennings and Lindsay Qualls had nine and seven assists, respectively, with Jennings also adding seven kills and five service aces.

Kamryn Eatmon and Sarah Siebert had six and five kills, respectively, with Siebert also adding five aces and five blocks. Della Boyette had seven aces, while Riley Barry had two blocks.

On Oct. 14, the Indians got 24 assists from Jennings and 12 kills from Eatmon in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, ,25-15) win over visiting Dixie County.

Jennings also had six kills and two blocks.

Siebert and Barry had four and two blocks, respectively, with Siebert also recording four aces. Padgett had 11 digs, six assists and three aces, while Kiersten Shaw had six digs and five kills.
