The Keystone Heights High School boys cross country team’s season came to an end at the Nov. 5 Region 1-2A cross country meet at Jacksonville’s New World Sports Complex.
Tyler Griffin led the Indians by placing 48th out of 114 runners with a time of 18:27. That was 36 seconds better than his time at the Oct. 27 District 2 meet.
Keystone, which placed last in the 16-team standings, had another runner improve upon his district time: Anthony Peak, whose 20:59 was a three-second improvement.
Also competing were Ryder Thomas (20:51), Ayden Graff (22:07) and Clark Byrnes (25:18).
Byrnes, Peak and Thomas were the event’s only seventh-graders.
The top eight teams earned the right to advance to state, as did the top three individuals not on those teams.
