Tristan Holder, Bradford High School’s lone participant at the Region 1-2A boys cross country meet on Nov. 5 at Jacksonville’s New World Sports Complex, fell one spot shy of earning a berth in the state finals.

The top three individuals not on the eight state-qualifying teams earned the right to advance. Holder had the fourth-best time (17:31) among individuals not on those teams, leaving him trailing Santa Fe’s Matthew Ortiz (17:13), Wolfson’s Andrew Marello (17:17) and Paxon’s Jalen Taylor (17:28).

Holder placed 24th overall out of 114 runners. His time was 53 seconds better than what he ran at the Oct. 27 District 2 meet.
