KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— -Clay deputies arrested Shaleena Arren Marks, 21, for domestic battery after she found her husband’s vape pens in their home and then tackled the man and punched him in the head.

According to an arrest report, the victim told arresting officers he called law enforcement only to maintain peace while he gathered his belongings. After deputies arrested the defendant, the victim refused to cooperate and did not provide a written statement.

The victim added that after his wife found the vape pens, she became irate, cursing and screaming at him.

“She took the vapes and smashed them on the ground,” wrote arresting officer Jason S. Wright.  “He said he was done and started to walk away into the yard.  The defendant ran after him and tackled him to the ground.”

After the victim freed himself, the defendant approached him again and he pushed her away. That is when she retaliated with several punches to the head.

Wright wrote that the defendant agreed with the victim’s account of the incident.

“The defendant said she was upset because the victim promised that he would not vape anymore and that he had lied to her,” Wright wrote. “She stated the only reason she tackled the victim was that she did not want him to leave her.”

Wright added that the couple has been married for three years and have no children.
