LAKE BUTLER— Jacob Daniel Briggs, 20, of Melrose was arrested by Union deputies on Jan. 2 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer and disorderly intoxication.
According to an arrest report, a resident of Santa Fe Mobile Home Park in Lake Butler called 911 after the defendant threw a knife at her and missed, striking her mobile home.
When deputies arrived, Briggs fled on foot and continued to be belligerent and verbally combative after deputies detained him, wrote arresting officer John Henry Whitehead IV in the report.
The lawman added that witnesses told him the defendant had been belligerent and yelling, fighting people in the roadway.
The victim told Whitehead that prior to Briggs throwing the knife at her, he got into a fight with his brother and attempted to expose himself to children in the mobile home park but was stopped by family members.
