The Keystone Heights High School girls basketball team concluded a stretch of six straight games against larger schools with a 67-36 loss to host Ponte Vedra on Jan. 14.
Stats weren’t available by deadline in the loss to the Class 6A Sharks.
Keystone (13-4), which plays in Class 4A, entered the Ponte Vedra game off a 43-30 loss on Jan. 11 to visiting Ridgeview, which is a Class 5A school. Lindsay Qualls scored eight points, while Yasmin Bryant and Kiley Channell each had six. Dezaray Bright and Emma Rogel each scored four points, while Madi Mitzel added two.
Bright grabbed 11 rebounds, with Channell finishing with six to go along with four assists.
Rogel had five steals.
The six-game stretch against larger schools also included a 35-30 win over Ridgeview, a 50-21 loss to 5A Rickards, a 54-30 win over 5A Middleburg and a 48-32 win over 5A Lake Weir. Those games were covered in previous issues of the Telegraph-Times-Monitor.
Keystone plays at Palatka on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. and will host Baker County on Friday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. The Indians then travel to play Bradford on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m.
