Head of School Terry Denmark announced this week that Hope Christian Academy has earned re-accreditation status from the International League of Christian Schools by meeting national standards for academic excellence.
“This is a monumental achievement not only for Hope Christian Academy to be state and nationally accredited, but also for the community of Hope Christian Academy and Christian education,” stated League of Christian Schools Executive Director Michael Burroughs. “We are honored to recognize such a great school and know that parents and students will value this recognition.”
The ILCS raised their standards even higher over the past few years, and Denmark said, “The increased raising of standards by ILCS strengthens our resolve in the pursuit of excellence in Christian education. Our amazing results-oriented staff work very hard to provide a solid foundation for our students through skillful, Christ-centered instruction and academic rigor.
The ILCS/Florida League of Christian Schools provide nationally recognized accreditation for the purpose of continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance. Hope Christian Academy staff completed a rigorous process of self-examination of the entire academy and also prepared an extensive self-examination report, which also included input from its stakeholders — their staff, students, board members and parents/guardians.
Program materials from all courses offered, testing, as well as material validating governance, facilities, student services, safety, and more, were sent for review to outside specialists chosen by ILCS. A team of nationally trained evaluators then traveled to Hope Christian Academy and conducted an onsite review including financial review, student services, teacher evaluations, and review of all procedures. Based on this entire process and the team’s report to the Accrediting Commission, Hope Christian Academy was granted accreditation for ILCS (also Florida League of Christian Schools).
Hope Christian Academy has been an educational ministry of Hope Baptist Church serving the families in the local communities since 2001 offering services to infants through K3, VPK (K4), and K5 through 12th grades. Their students organizations — Key Club, National Honor Society, and Student Government Association — and award-winning athletics were also a part of the accreditation process examination.
Hope Christian Academy is located on State Road 100 in between Starke and Keystone Heights. More information can be found at myhopechristianacademy.org.
The League of Christian Schools has served quality Christian schools since 1983 as a primary choice for Christian preschool and K-12 accreditation promoting biblical, academic, and professional excellence in its member schools. The LCS is a nationally recognized accrediting agency.
