Union County High School’s Jaira Highland earned the right to compete at the regional level after her performance at the Jan. 18 District 5-1A finals, which were held at Fort White High School.
Highland placed fifth in the 199 class with a 235 total (125, 110).
The top six in each class qualified for the Region 2 finals, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Father Lopez High School in Daytona Beach.
Union had two miss out on qualifying by one spot: Trista Tamburri with a 145 total (70, 75) in the 183 class and Tifton Roseke with a 205 total (105, 100) in the 199 class.
