Keystone Heights High School had individual champions in Ariel King and Grace Wagner and will send a total of 11 to the Region 2-1A girls weightlifting finals after their performances at the District 5 meet, which was held Jan. 18 at Fort White High School.
The top six in each weight class earned the right to advance. The Region 2 finals will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Father Lopez High School in Daytona Beach.
King won the 129 class with a 235 total (125, 110), while Wager took first in the 139 class with a 260 total (120, 140).
Abbigail Anthony-Rozier and Kaylee Wright were the runners-up in the 110 and 183 classes, respectively. Anthony-Rozier had a 150 total (75, 75), while Wright had a 305 total (150, 155).
Heidi Knapp placed third in the 119 class with a 165 total (85, 80), while three lifters earned fourth-place finishes: Kathryn Brossette with a 200 total (110, 90) in the 129 class, Harmony Geiger with a 225 total (120, 105) in the 169 class and Lillian Mitchell with a 220 total (120, 100) in the 183 class.
Schiley Starling had a fifth-place total of 150 (80, 70) in the 119 class, while Chloe Still and Kenly Chitty placed sixth in the 139 and 154 classes, respectively. Still had a 195 total (95, 100), while Chitty had a 180 total (95, 85).
Annabeth Oody missed out on a Region 2 berth by one spot, placing seventh in the 101 class with a 125 total (60, 65).
