STARKE— A 36-year-old Starke man was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading to a variety of charges, including possession of cocaine.

Circuit Judge James M. Colaw adjudicated Travis Edward Aldridge guilty after the defendant pleaded no contest to the Sept. 30, 2021, offenses of fleeing and eluding, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, driving with a suspended or revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an arrest report, Starke police arresting officer Christopher Keel saw the defendant driving on East Brownlee Street and turn right onto Pine Street.

Keel wrote that he knew the defendant did not possess a valid license, so he activated his emergency lights and siren.

After a brief chase, the defendant turned into the driveway of an Old Lawtey Road residence, where he was detained by Keel.

Searches of Aldridge and his vehicle yielded 4.7 grams of cocaine, four grams of marijuana, two Molly pills, also known as MDMA or ecstasy, 1.5 Lortab pills, five oxycodone pills, and $2,961 in cash.
