STARKE— Bradford deputies arrested a 23-year-old Starke woman after a boy said she tried to run over him
Hanna Elizabeth Anderson, 22, was arrested on Jan. 12 for the May 24, 2021, offenses of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless driving.
According to a warrant affidavit filed by Starke police, the victim told Officer Hunter Redding that while outside at Orangewood Apartments, he saw a car come around a corner, so he stepped onto a concrete curb and then into a grassy area.
“(The victim) advised that Hanna was driving and drove onto the concrete near the grass at which point (the victim) advised that is where Hanna almost hit him,” Redding wrote in the affidavit. “(The victim) advised that after she almost hit him, she began to curse at him and an unknown male inside the vehicle flicked him off.”
The boy, whose age was redacted from the document, said Anderson almost hit him a second time.
“I asked the victim if he believed that the incident was intentional or if it was an accident,” Redding added. “It was on purpose,” the boy replied.
Anderson, in addition to two people who said they were in the vehicle at the time of the incident, said the defendant’s vehicle did not come near the victim.
The boy’s biological mother said she witnessed the incident and backed her son’s story. She added that her current roommate and the defendant were formerly involved.
“The (roommate and defendant) apparently have a tumultuous relationship,” wrote Officer Joe Silverstein, “stemming from the suspect thinking that the (mother) and (the roommate) are in a romantic relationship.”
