The Bradford High School boys basketball team lost its third game in a row, falling 58-49 to Class 7A Oakleaf on Jan. 28 in Orange Park.
Shayne Davis and Jontez Williams scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Chalil Cummings had eight points, five rebounds, seven steals and three assists.
Hunter Crawford and Robbie Simmons-Godwin scored six and five points, respectively, with Crawford also grabbing six rebounds. Keith Ardley had three points, while Bernard Nichols added two.
The Tornadoes (8-10) entered the game off a 39-36 road loss to Class 6A Gainesville on Jan. 25.
Davis scored 11 points, while Simmons-Godwin and Williams had nine and eight, respectively. Simmons-Godwin also grabbed 10 rebounds, while Williams had nine to go along with three steals.
Cummings had five points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Nichols scored two points.
Amari Jones added one point and five assists.
Bradford is the number-one seed in the District 6-1A tournament, which is being hosted by Bell High School. The Tornadoes have a first-round bye and will play either fourth-seed Fort White or fifth-seed Branford in a semifinal game on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. If Bradford wins, it’ll play for the championship on Friday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
The tournament also consists of second-seed Bell, third-seed Dixie County and sixth-seed Union County.
