Keystone Heights High School got the chance to continue its girls basketball season, with the Indians earning the last at-large qualifying spot in the Region 1-4A playoffs.
The Indians (19-5) will travel to Jacksonville to take on Bishop Kenny (22-4), the number-one overall seed in the region, in a quarterfinal game on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m.
Keystone finished ranked seventh in Region 1, which earned the Indians the last at-large sport ahead of North Marion. The champions of the region’s four districts — Bishop Kenny, Dunnellon, Paxon and Rutherford — automatically qualified for the postseason, while the rankings determined the rest of the field.
If the Indians defeat Bishop Kenny, they’ll travel to play either Paxon (fourth seed) or South Walton (fifth seed) in a semifinal game on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m.
