Caleb Moncrief earned a win and a runner-up finish for the Keystone Heights High School boys track and field team at the Feb. 25 Pedro Menendez Falcon Invite.
Moncrief won the discus with a throw of 41.98 meters, while placing second in the shot put with a distance of 13.44.
Tyler Griffin ran a fifth-place time of 4:56 in the 1600m and a sixth-place time of 11:17 in the 3200m.
Shepherd Rozier placed eighth in the 400m with a time of 55.80.
Keystone also had the following results: 100m — Garrett Roberson 15.41, Tristan Dukes 15.74; 200m — Rozier 25.37, Josiah Durrenberger 27.38, Roberson 31.15, Dukes 33.67; 400m — Durrenberger 1:03; 3200m — Ayden Graff 12:50; long jump —Rozier 5.33m; shot put — Jackson Herman 9.22, Tyler Duncan 8.81; discus —Herman 20.49, Duncan 13.26; and javelin — Adam Sapp 28.0.
On Feb. 22, the Indians earned six first- and second-place finishes at a meet hosted by Palatka.
Griffin won the 800m (2:13) and the 1600m (4:57), while three individuals were runners-up: Rozier in the 400m (56.92), Jaden Park in the 1600m (5:15) and Graff in the 3200m (12:16).
The 4x400m relay team of Durrenberger, Rozier, Park and Griffin had a second-place time of 4:48, while the 4x100m team of Dakota Leach, Jason Parales, Matthew Bright and Clark Byrnes placed third with a time of 58.70.
Rozier finished third in the 400m (24.99), while Damien King was fourth in the shot put (10.37).
The following earned fifth-place finishes: Park in the 200m (25.89), Durrenberger in the 400m (1:02), Gabriel Perry in the high jump (1.42) and Bryce Miller in the long jump (5.26).
Earning sixth-place finishes were Sapp in the 1600m (5:53) and James Thomas in the high jump (1.42). Jacob Stahman placed seventh in the 800m (2:33), while King was eighth in the discus (21.70).
Other results were: 100m — Roberson 15.38, Dukes 15.79; 200 — Durrenberger 27.76, Roberson 31.62, Dukes 33.38; long jump — Leach 4.30; shot put — Bright 6.95; and discus — Bright 16.95, Parker Pescara 12.0.
In the middle-school finals of the event, Miller won the 110m hurdles (17.73) and placed third in the 100m (13.11), while the following earned second-place finishes: Garrett Jones in the 800m (2:48), Thomas in the 1600m (5:40) and Byrnes in the 110m hurdles (21.06).
Byrnes was also third in the 800m (2:57), while Pescara was third in the 110m hurdles (28.24). Will Begue was third in the 1600m (6:11), while the following placed third, fifth and seventh in the 400m: Acaden Nilsen (1:06), Perry (1:11) and Pescara (1:36).
In the 100m, Leach was fourth (13.43), Parales fifth (14.83) and Bright sixth (15.63). Leach also earned a sixth-place finish in the 200m (28.23).
