MELROSE— The Melrose Volunteer Fire Department said in a social media post that a March 5 fire forced a Lake Region family out of its home.
The blaze occurred in the 700 block of North SR 21. Units from Melrose, Interlachen, Hollister and Putnam County Fire Rescue responded.
The structure received extensive smoke and water damage.
Occupants evacuated the home before firefighters arrived and there were no reported injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the family and the State Fire Marshal is investigating.
