KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— City Manager Lynn Rutkowski emailed her letter of resignation to city council members on March 22, with an effective date of June 29.

Rutkowski offered a verbal resignation during February but agreed to stay on the job and reconsider after urging from Vice Mayor Steve Hart and council members Tony Brown and Marion Kelly.

Her offer to resign in February stemmed from what her supporters characterized as a hostile work environment fostered by Mayor Karen Lake.

Lake has publicly accused Rutkowski of lying about graduating from high school during her hiring process and tampering with her city personnel file.

The council has scheduled a Tuesday March 29th special meeting to discuss the matter.
