LAKE BUTLER — Lake Butler VFW Post 10082 held its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16, 2022.  Post members, kids and parents all had a good time preparing or participating in the event, with the weather cooperating as well.

Post and Auxiliary members had fun “hiding” 800 brightly colored eggs while the youngsters and their parents enjoyed the lunch provided by the post – feasting on hot dogs, chips and a selection of snack cakes for dessert.  “Chris” Fischer cooked the dogs, while other post and auxiliary members set out the condiments, chips and treats.  The 24 kids were divided into three age classes, with the little ones turned loose first.

Smiles were bright as the kids filled the baskets with the eggs they found and parents seemed to be enjoying coaching them on technique.

The event is offered to both the children of members and their families and also to any members of the community that want to come.  The meal and egg hunt is conducted by the post as a community outreach, free to all who wish to attend.
