STARKE— The Florida Highway Patrol said a Lawtey man walking along Blanding Boulevard in Jacksonville was killed when he was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was hit by a black SUV travelling north on the boulevard, also signed as State Road 21, near Collins Road and just north of Interstate 295.
Troopers said the driver fled the scene on foot after the collision.
The 2 a.m., Sunday, April 17 crash is still under investigation.
