Tyler Griffin was the runner-up in the 1600m and qualified for regional competition in a total of two events for Keystone Heights High School at the District 3-2A track and field running-events finals on April 21 at Santa Fe High School.
Ella Hutchins and Kiersten Shaw also earned regional berths. The top four finishers in each event will move on to the Region 1 finals on Thursday, May 5, at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City.
Griffin ran a time of 4:47 in the 1600m to finish behind Santa Fe’s Matthew Ortiz, who had a time of 4:43. Griffin also placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:15.
Shaw took third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.41, while Hutchins was fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:07.
Dallas Decrosta finished sixth in the girls 800m with a time of 2:49, while in the boys 400m, Shepherd Rozier was sixth (54.83).
The boys team had three earn ninth-place finishes: Rozier in the 200m (25.46), Josiah Durrenberger in the 800m (2:30) and Garrett Roberson in the 1600m (5:32).
Jaden Park was 10th in the 200m (26.80), while Ayden Graff was 10th in the 3200m (12:21).
Durrenberger placed 11th in the 400m (59.08), while Park was 11th in the 1600m (5:38).
Jacob Stahman was 14th in the 800m (2:43).
Elizabeth Hogan earned a 10th-place finish for the girls team in the 400m (1:14).
In the girls 200m, Candace Jackson and Brianna Hogan were 12th and 15th, respectively, with times of 30.76 and 31.44, while Elizabeth Hogan was 17th (34.07).
Jackson and Brianna Hogan placed 13th and 14th, respectively, in the 100m with times of 14.65 and 14.84.
