Union County High School’s softball team earned an at-large berth in the Region 3-1A playoffs and will travel to play second-seed Madison County in a semifinal game on Thursday, May 12, at 7 p.m.
The Tigers (17-5) are the region’s third seed. They’re coming off a 7-4 District 5-1A championship-game loss to Madison (14-9) that snapped a three-game winning streak.
The other semifinal game in Region 3 will pit top-seed Fort White (13-7) against fourth-seed Lafayette (13-6).
If Union defeats Madison, it’ll either travel to play Fort White or host Lafayette in the Region 3 championship game, which will be Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m.
