The month of April is a busy time for Lake Butler FFA, but members did not hesitate to get to work. On Saturday, April 2, Lake Butler FFA received two more state championships following their first one of the year back in February.

First, the horse judging team, coached by Linsey Androlevich, placed first at their state contest. Team members include Cailynn Boggs, Michael Young, Krista Young and Ryleigh Rhoden.

Cailynn Boggs was also named high individual of the contest. Ryleigh, Michael and Krista were ninth, 13th, and 15th individuals overall, respectively.

The horse judging team will be representing the state of Florida at the National Convention in November of this year.

Hours after hearing about this good news, the Food Science team coached by Tom Williams found out that they placed first in their contest as well.

Team members included Laura Park, Maegan Beatty, Hannah Sherrod and Kindall Johnson. Kindall Johnson was named second high individual of the contest, and Maegan Beatty was named third high individual. Laura Park and Hannah Sherrod were 12th and eighth high individuals, respectively.

This team will also be representing Florida at the National Convention in November.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work that these young men and women have put in this school year, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the future. It has been a bright year for Lake Butler FFA and we are looking forward to the days to come.
