Three area youth who train with Bryan Griffis at Raiford Wreckshop will be traveling outside the U.S. for competitions, including Courtney Comer and Mahailya Reeves, who qualified for the International Powerlifting Federation Worlds.
The IPF event will be held Aug. 27-Sept. 4 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Brianna Jordan and Zeke Malphurs qualified to compete at the North American Powerlifting Federation North American Regional Powerlifting Championships, which will be held Aug. 14-20 in Panama, though only Jordan will compete.
The lifters are trying to raise money to cover the costs of their trips. For Jordan, the cost is $2,000, while the trip for Comer and Reeves is a combined $6,400.
