KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— Community Church operated its 14th annual back-to-school giveaway from Thursday through Saturday at the church’s Palmetto Avenue campus.
Event organizer Barbara Sullivan said around 40 volunteers supplied nearly 300 children with shoes, clothing, Bibles, school supplies, backpacks and other products.

On Friday morning Sullivan said 175 children came through the doors of Community Church on Thursday, July 7, for supplies. Other students were scheduled to pick up supplies at the church on Friday and Saturday mornings.
This is the second year students were allowed to attend the event following the COVID-19 Pandemic. Sullivan said that in 2020, only parents were allowed to come.

“It was so sad,” Sullivan recalled, adding that volunteers say that praying with the students and parents highlights the event.
