KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— The Florida Highway Patrol said a Lake Region teen was taken to a hospital after being hit by an SUV south of Green Cove Springs.

The state agency said the 15-year-old was riding on County Road 209 at Ravenwood Drive, near the Bayard Conservation Area.

The boy was riding north in the southbound lane of the county road when he was struck by a Chevrolet Acadia around 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

FHP said the cyclist received serious injuries, while the driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old Clay County woman, was unhurt.
