STARKE — One of three truck occupants is dead following a train collision in Starke Thursday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the eastbound pickup approached the railroad crossing on East Market Road around 10:30 p.m. July 21 and attempted drive around the railroad crossing arms. The northbound train collided with the right front side of the truck, causing the truck to spin and flip onto its roof.
FHP was unsure which of the truck’s occupants was driving the vehicle. A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men, 44 and 63 years old, were transported to UF Health with serious injuries.
