Many Union County students from fourth to ninth grade were rewarded for their high achievements on the 2021-22 FSA.
Lake Butler Middle School had more than 100 students achieve a Level 5, which is the highest level possible on one or more of their many Florida Standards Assessments during the spring of 2022.
These students took a day off of school to relax at Camp Kulaqua in High Springs. Students “blobbed,” swam, canoed, swung from the Tarzan swing, and played slip and slide kickball under the direction of Meagan Daniel, Union County 4-H coordinator.
Lake Butler Elementary School celebrated last year’s third- and fourth-grade scores as well. Almost 200 students who reached proficiency in both reading and math were eligible for an exciting day at Defy in Gainesville, an indoor trampoline park.
Jumping wasn’t the only fun activity students participated in, they were also able to maneuver through a ninja course, rock climb, zipline, and parkour to name a few others.
The district said it is proud of these students and the many adults who help them achieve.
