Union County High School’s Zoe Elixson placed second in a girls golf match played Sept. 19 in Lake City that consisted of participants from Branford, Columbia and Taylor County high schools.
Elixson shot a 55, which put her two strokes ahead of Branford’s Liberty Ward. Medalist Claire Bond of Branford shot a 42.
The Tigers’ Kerissa Seay placed 10th with a score of 69, while Summer Shaw was 13th with a score of 71.
Elixson also had a second-place finish at a Sept. 12 girls golf match hosted by Branford in Lake City. She shot a 57, which put her six strokes ahead of Gainesville’s Alli Maze.
Branford’s Bond was the medalist in that match as well, finishing 10 strokes ahead of Elixson.
