The Florida High School Athletic Association released its inaugural football power rankings on Sept. 27, which revealed that Bradford was the number-one team in Class 2S.

As such, Bradford is also the top team in its region (Region 2). Each class consists of four regions. Fellow Region 2 team Baldwin, which lost 35-0 to the Tornadoes in week two, is ranked sixth in Class 2S.

The second- through fifth-ranked teams between Bradford and Baldwin are Florida High (Region 1), South Sumter (Region 3), Walton (Region 1) and Pensacola Catholic (Region 1).

In Class 1R, Union County is ranked fourth behind Chiefland, Pahokee and Williston. The Tigers are the highest ranked team in Region 3 of that class. Lafayette, the second-highest ranked team in Region 3, is 11th overall in 1R.

End-of-season rankings will determine all of the playoff qualifiers in Class 1R, with the top six in each region advancing.

In Class 2S, which also includes 46th-ranked Keystone Heights, the champions of each district qualify for the postseason. Rankings are then used to determine at-large qualifiers.
