The R.J.E. Alumni Association can’t say thanks enough to each of you for your attendance at the Alumni Banquet on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Camp Blanding.
Everything and all of you were beautiful. Mr. Henry Wade served as emcee. The Rev. Alvin Green gave the opening prayer and provided words of encouragement. Ms. Jean Harding sang “Amazing Grace,” and she rocked the building.
Welcome was from Ms. Lillie Strachan, and Master Jaquan Bryant asked God to bless the food. Dinner was served and a delicious meal was enjoyed and prepared by The Ralph McKnight Catering Company.
Then Mr. Curtis Whitley presented an excellent slideshow of the rich history of RJE followed by a trivia game with Ms. Linda Hampton and Ms. Carnell Williams.
Emcee Wade acknowledged classmates and staff. Ms. Glory Jackson and Ms. Mary McGregor memorialized those who have passed.
Alumni President Joann Jackson shared the group’s appreciation, with special thanks to the caterer, decorator Ms. Wanda Middleton, La’Tara Davis and the alumni committee, and others. DJ Mr. Keith Ardley did a super job. Photographer Mr. Kingley King also did a great job. Thank you Ms. Toika Strong Lee for a great job on programs. Thank everyone who pitched in to make this a memorable affair.
RJE Alumni are looking for more members for the executive committee. The group meets at the Tigers Place, 920 Florida St. in Starke on the third Tuesday each month at 6:30 p.m.
