STARKE— Gainesville police arrested a Bradford County man after they said he stole $1,000 worth of LEGO sets from a Butler Plaza Walmart.
Richard Fredrick Torrey, III, 35, was arrested Sunday and released on his own recognizance by a judge.
According to an arrest report, the defendant entered the store around 4 p.m. with reusable shopping bags and filled the bags with 26 sets of the plastic building blocks.
A loss prevention officer called police after Torrey left the store without paying for the merchandise.
The defendant admitted taking the sets off store shelves but denied stealing the items.
