KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— The eighth annual Krawl’n for the Fallen Jeep event wrapped up at the Keystone Heights Airport on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The event, which drew thousands of Jeep enthusiasts and supporters of law enforcement, was held at the Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park.

It annually draws around 800 Jeeps and 2,000 attendees.

Event organizer Chrissy Johnson said cool and damp weather may have impacted attendance this year.

Krawl’n for the Fallen is one of the largest off-road events held in Florida.  It raises awareness, honors and remembers officers and K-9s who have been lost in the line of duty.

“Krawl’n is an event to remember the fallen, honor those still serving, and show our respect for the families that have made the ultimate sacrifice,” Johnson said.  “We bring survivors out for a weekend of fun for them to forget about their worries and just enjoy themselves, as well as let our current law enforcement officers be able to take a break and not worry about anything.”

This year’s honor roll included 644 officers killed in the line of duty.

Johnson said Krawl’n for the Fallen raises $100,000 for the families of fallen officers. The event also featured several giveaways.  Mason Pegel of Ocala won a Jeep and Jonathan Frenchko of Wesley Chapel took home a Tiny Camper.
