KHHS is 3-1 in girls basketball after win over Eastside

Kiley Channell made six three-pointers and finished with a game-high 26 points in leading the Keystone Heights High School girls basketball team to a 50-29 win over visiting Eastside on Nov. 22.

The Indians (3-1) led by only two at the half, but outscored Eastside 25-6 for the 21-point final margin.

Channell also had seven rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Dezaray Bright had 12 points, 15 rebounds and four steals, while Yasmin Bryant had six points and three steals. Kaitlin Brown and Alana Anderson scored four and two points, respectively, with Brown also grabbing 10 rebounds.

Rexi Lewis pulled down five of the team’s 43 total rebounds.

Keystone entered the game off a 56-50 win at Fort White on Nov. 21. Channell again led the way in points with 22, while Bright had 15. Channell added nine rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Bright had 14 rebounds and five steals.

Brown and Jaynell Hill had six and five points, respectively, while Bryant and Lewis each had four. Brown also had 10 rebounds.

Brynn Creekmore and Hill had three and two steals, respectively.

The Indians host Ridgeview on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. before hosting their annual Winter Shootout on Saturday, Dec. 3 (see related story). Keystone travels to play Union County on Monday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m.
