Finley Poynter recorded a double-double as the Northside Christian Academy girls basketball team opened the season with a 31-10 win over host Hope on Nov. 29.
Poyner scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while also coming away with three steals.
The Eagles’ Arianna Norman flirted with a double-double as well with eight points and eight rebounds. She also had four steals.
Jacee Smith added five points for Northside, while Leona Harden and Makayla Price each had two. Rosalea Norman grabbed seven rebounds and had three steals.
Hope got three points from Addyson Wilson, while Jadie Clark, Alyssa Hunt and Charlotte Natirboff each had two. Brooke McCloud added one point.
The Eagles followed up the win with a 49-18 loss to host Saint Francis on Dec. 1.
Smith, Arianna Norman and Rosalea Norman each had seven rebounds, with Smith also scoring a team-high nine points. Arianna Norman added four points, while Rosalea Norman had two points and nine steals.
Lexie Welsh scored three points, while Harden had four steals.
Northside then hosted Zarephath Academy on Friday, Dec. 2, losing 22-6.
