LAWTEY — The city of Lawtey held elections Dec 6., voting in two city council members. Group two, was won by newcomer Amy Blom. Blom, a lifelong Lawtey resident, defeated John Merceir with a 111 votes to 37.
Lawtey City Council Group 4 was won by Virginia “Ginny” Warner. Warner defeated Gwendolyn T. Anders by a vote of 88 to 59. Warner has served in the past on the council but after a year away she is ready to serve again and looks forward to meeting the challenges ahead. One such challenge is Lawtey’s infrastructure.
Both Bloom and Warner look forward to listening to the voice of local residents and are eager to get to work serving their fellow Lawtey residents beginning with their swearing in ceremony on Jan. 3.
