As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Starke Railroad Overpass Interchange Improvements project, eastbound Call Street will reopen and westbound Call Street (State Road 230) between U.S. 301 and Cherry Street will close to traffic starting Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Additionally, Walnut Street and Thompson Street will be closed between Call Street and Jefferson Street. Closures will begin at 6 a.m. and last 2-3 weeks, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
Traffic will be detoured during the closure as follows:
Westbound Call Street (S.R. 230) Detour: Westbound Call Street will be closed with local traffic access only from Cherry Street to U.S. 301. Vehicles travelling westbound will turn right onto Cherry Street, turn left onto Jackson Street, left onto Walnut Street, right onto Jefferson Street and proceed to U.S. 301.
Southbound Thompson Street Detour: Vehicles travelling southbound on Thompson Street toward Call Street will turn right onto Jefferson Street, turn left onto U.S. 301, turn left onto S.R. 100 and proceed to Thompson Street.
Southbound Walnut Street Detour: Vehicles seeking to travel southbound on Walnut Street toward Call Street will turn right onto Jefferson Street, turn left onto U.S. 301, turn left onto S.R. 100, make a U-turn at Thompson Street onto westbound S.R. 100 and proceed to Walnut Street.
S.R. 230 Delivery Truck Detour: During westbound Call Street closure, delivery trucks will travel regular detour but are expected to park in the closed westbound lane during delivery in order to allow for traffic flow.
