Ryan Jones drove in four runs, while three pitchers combined to give up two hits in the Keystone Heights High School baseball team’s 10-0, five-inning win over visiting Fort White on March 9.

The Indians (5-2) scored two runs in the first, with Jones driving in one on a ground out and Noah Branch driving in another on a single. Those runs were all the pitchers needed work with. Starter Ben Goforth gave up one hit and one walk, while striking out three in three innings. Seth Gagnon and Kolby Thomas each threw one inning, with Gagnon giving up one hit and no walks and Thomas giving up no hits and no walks.

Keystone built a 7-0 lead, with five runs in the second inning. The Indians loaded the bases with no outs, with Gage Smith reaching on an error, Andru Siemer getting hit by a pitch and Wil Rogel hitting a bunt single. An error on a fly ball hit by Chase Packham allowed Smith to score. Two outs later, Jones hit a bases-loaded double that scored all three runners. Branch then hit a double to push another run across.

Branch finished 3 for 3 with two RBI, while Jones went 2 for 3.

Rogel, Caleb Mize and Garrison Teague each had one RBI, with Rogel going 2 for 2.

It was the fifth win in six games for Keystone, which entered the game off a 4-0 loss at North Marion on March 7. Smith had the Indians’ only hit.

Keystone will return to action with a road game against Fort White on Monday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m.
