This year’s Bradford-Union swine and cattle sale at the Bradford Agricultural Fair, which was held March 10, consisted of $410,698.65 in total sales, with 26 steers selling for a total price of $177,458.15 and 96 pigs selling for a total price of $233,240.50.
Reese Wainwright’s grand champion steer, which weighed 1,272 pounds, sold for $10,176 ($8 per pound), while Huck Alvarez’s reserve grand champion, which weighed 1,268 pounds, sold for $8,876 ($7 per pound).
The swine show’s grand champion, which was exhibited by Kate Wainwright weighed 269 pounds and sold for $6,994 ($26 per pound). Ella Hewett’s reserve grand champion weighed 258 pounds and sold for $6,192 ($24 per pound).
Koy Hartley exhibited the homegrown grand champion in the steer show. It weighed 1,301 pounds and sold for $8,456.50 ($6.50 per pound).
The homegrown reserve grand champion steer, exhibited by Ansley Ward, weighed 1,294 pounds and sold for $10,352 ($8 per pound).
Codi Huntley’s homegrown grand champion pig, which weighed 279 pounds, sold for $4,882.50 ($17.50 per pound), while Grace Turknett’s homegrown reserve grand champion, which weighed 276 pounds, sold for $2,208 ($8 per pound).
