Bradford High School improved to 7-2 in boys tennis with a 5-2 win over visiting West Nassau on March 16.
Gideon Jordan suffered a close 8-6 loss at number-one singles, but the Tornadoes came out on top in the rest of the matches in singles play, with Calum Butler winning 8-1 at the number-two slot, Troy Smith winning 8-6 at number three and Hayden Knight and Nikolas Vargas each winning 8-2 at number four and number five, respectively.
Smith and Knight teamed up for an 8-3 win at number-two doubles. The number-one team of Jordan and Butler lost 8-3.
Bradford evened its record in girls play, with the Tornadoes winning 4-3 to improve to 5-5.
Brooklynn Reddish won 8-4 at number-three singles, while Caitlyn Jackson won 9-7 at number four. Lexie Wells lost 8-5 at number one, while Reagan Harris and Kasey Thompson each lost 8-3 at number two and number five, respectively.
The Tornadoes won both doubles matches, with Wells and Harris teaming up for an 8-5 win and Reddish and Jackson getting an 8-6 win.
Bradford hosts Keystone on Tuesday, March 21, and 3:30 p.m. and will travel to play Ridgeview on Thursday, March 30, at 3:30 p.m.
