STARKE—Union County Animal Control said several dogs were saved from euthanasia after residents responded to the county agency’s urgent pleas.

On March 17, the department posted photos of four dogs with the message: “These 4 pups need saving. They are due to be euthanized at 2 p.m. today if no one can help. We have picked up 8 dogs within the past 2 days. We are FULL. We are closed to intake as we try to move some of these dogs!”

Later, the agency said that the dogs scheduled to be put down: Milo, Tully, and Molly were adopted while two more: Harlow and Maggie, were to be sent to a rescue organization.
