KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—McRae Elementary’s team: “The Nerds Return,” won the Sunshine State Battle of the Books regional competition held at McRae Elementary on Tuesday, March 29.
The team of Lynnie Kubisiak, Emma Bauer, Jaylynn Gayle, Kendall Cambron, Paisyn Finch and Scarlet Fernandez took first place in the four-school competition, which also included students from Thunderbolt Elementary, Patterson Elementary and Keystone Heights Elementary.
Students from Keystone Heights Elementary placed second in the quiz show-like competition, in which students were asked questions about the content of 15 books selected by state education officials.
