Alaina Kinsall drove in two runs, while pitcher Kadence Massey gave up one earned run in the Keystone Heights High School softball team’s 8-2 win over Palatka in the District 3-3A tournament semifinals on May 2 at KHHS.
The third seed Indians (8-17) will play for the championship on Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. at KHHS.
Massey, who allowed six hits and just one walk in a complete-game effort, kept the second seed Panthers (12-11) off the board until Hannah Faulkner hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the seventh.
Keystone put its first run on the board when Amber Wagner, who led off the top of the second with a single, scored on a Caitlin Frampton triple.
Ashley Nugent led off the top of the fourth with her second home run in two games. Two more runs scored in that inning on a Massey ground out and an error.
The fifth inning featured an RBI triple by Kiley Channell, who finished 2 for 4, and an RBI double by Wagner, putting the Indians up 6-0.
Wagner was perfect at the plate, going 4 for 4.
Kinsall, who went 3 for 4, hit a two-run triple in the sixth to make the score 8-0.
